This game is brought to us by Game Freak, who you might know from such obscure titles as: Mendel Palace and Drill Dozer. But not those Pokemon things. Who even knows what a Pokemon is anyway?

This is the title screen. That Pokemon is a Charmander. Yes I know you know this.

So we'll be starting a new game.

world of Pokemon.

This is Professor Oak. People call him the Pokemon Prof.

That is a Nidorino. It is the evolution of a Nidoran (Male).

We will be using them for fighting. The first fight will be against our rival, who we will see in a few dozen screenshots. The last fight will also be against our rival. That or Mewtwo.

But Oak is a scientist, so he studies the effects of hooking Electrodes to their brains.

Our protagonist's name is RED or Red. It may vary because I restarted a few times.

Oak has a few memory problems.

Oak remembers right after we tell him.

awaits. Lets go!

The adventure starts with Red playing Super Metroid.

Lets.

But first, we must take out an item from our computer.

It's a high-tech system.

This person on the ground floor of Red's house is a random stranger who is one of those people who thinks everything on TV is correct. These people also think that Fox News is a reliable source of information.

This is probably referencing a real movie. But I don't watch movies that often, so I wouldn't know.

And BEHOLD! Red gives a complete thought that is not: Yes. No. This is the only time in any of the games that Red gives a thought. I mean, even in G/S/C, Red only 'said' ...

After leaving his house, Red decides to visit his neighbor who tells him that Blue is at Oak's lab.

Red goes over to verify. He learns that Oak is not at the lab.

THIS IS CLEARLY IMPORTANT.

Oak was hiding in the bushes just beyond the rocks that surround the town. He pops out like a jack-in-the-box.

waiting!

wait here.

Okay, so it's time to make a decision. Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle. I would allow audience interaction here, but I have no audience, so I just rolled a 6 sided die a lot. 1-2 was Bulbasaur, 3-4 was Squirtle, and 5-6 was Charmander. Charmander was rolled the most frequently, so that is who our starter will be.
